SIKESTON - After losing 4-3 in 10 innings on Tuesday, the Sikeston Bootheel Bombers turned the table on the Farmington Firebirds by scoring a run in the bottom of the 10th to come away with the 5-4 victory at VFW Stadium on Wednesday. SIKESTON -- For over 90 years the building at 411 N. Kingshighway stood, the last 25 years of which it housed Green Meadows Retirement Home. On Wednesday morning, staff and residents watched as the building was destroyed by fire. Kenneth "Funk" Fields, 48, was sentenced to 188 months in prison on one felony count of conspiracy to distribute in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine and one felony count of possession of firearm ammunition by a felon.
