Sikeston R-6 Board of Education passes resolution on House Bill 253

SIKESTON -- Sikeston R-6 School District adopted a resolution on Tuesday to combat Missouri House Bill 253. In June, Gov. Jay Nixon vetoed Missouri House Bill 253, which would reduce state revenue by more than $800 million. The resolution, which was passed during the R-6 Board of Education's regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, urges the Missouri House and Senate to sustain the veto of HB 253. If the governor's veto isn't sustained, Sikeston R-6 would lose up to $1.7 million in state funding...
