SIKESTON -- On Aug. 20, the Charleston Baptist Association held its Fourth Annual Golf Tournament at the Bootheel Golf Club. This tournament was held to benefit the mission's efforts to West Africans of the 32 Baptist Churches that make up the Charleston Baptist Association. Teams have used funds provided to travel to Senegal, West Africa to do Medical Missions and evangelism. How about a compromise? The Republican leadership needs to come out in favor of a tax increase for all Americans if the Democrats will agree to halt any spending increases. Every single dime of the new taxes generated would be directed to deficit reduction.
