DEXTER (SMNS) -- A 36-year-old man was killed while walking across the eastbound lanes of Highway 60 near the State Hwy. AD overpass Saturday night. According to Dexter Police, Terry Edmond Belcher, Jr. was struck by an eastbound pickup truck just before 9 p.m. as he was attempting to make his way across the highway. NEW MADRID -- The bicycles shimmer in the sunlight in the hallway at New Madrid Elementary School. Lined up next to both walls are shiny pink, red, blue and green bicycles, some tiny with training wheels and others sporting fringe from the handles. Each day, students file past. They are quick to notice if new bikes are added to the rows. Conversations revolve around who will take home one of Mr. Joe's bicycles on the last day of school...
