BENTON -- A Scott County school will once again offer its annual ceremony honoring area veterans while teaching students the true meaning of service. BENTON -- A Vanduser woman has been charged after being found at the scene of burglary. Tawny Divietro, 29, is charged with the Class C felony of second degree burglary and the Class D felony of possession of burglary tools. According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, deputies responded to a residence in Morley on Wednesday for a report of a burglary in progress. If you're like I am, you often wonder what charities to give to. I recently got an email from a friend of who not to and who to give to. I checked the list out with Snopes and they agreed with this list. Do not give to the American Red Cross. Their president and CEO makes $652,000 plus expenses; the March of Dimes, only one dime of every dollar goes to charity; The United Way, their president receives $375,000 plus expenses; Unicef, their CEO receives $1,200,000 plus all expenses (and that includes a Rolls Royce car) and less than 5 percent goes to charity; Goodwill, CEO and owner makes $3 million a year. ...
