Nicholes Allred was the winning pitcher for Portageville (11-9, 3-3 Bootheel Conference). He threw two innings and gave up no runs on one hit. He had four strikeouts and walked no batters. Work continues on the DAEOC Early Head Start Center located on N. West Street in Sikeston. The new center will offer full-year, full-day services to 40 children, birth to 3 and bring 21 new jobs to the community. Early Head Start offers comprehensive services including early learning and care, health and mental health, nutrition, special needs services and family engagement. Completion of the 11,500-square-foot building is scheduled for October 2016. -
