Just a few years ago, 2013, EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks and staff met with the Mayor of Howardville Jessie Newson and Vannessa Frazier, executive director of the Howardville Community Betterment Association to discuss a Brownfields grant and cleanup of the Howardville school.
