The St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper fancies itself as the liberal beacon in a fairly conservative state. Never do its editors go off the liberal reservation and champion something that conservatives could embrace. But the St. Louis newspaper meandered too far into liberal territory with its take on the prison population in Missouri. Missouri's prison system includes 21 facilities housing 36,000 prisoners. That calculates to an over-capacity of 105 percent.
