SIKESTON — Freddie L. Taylor, 55, died June 22, 2018, at his home in Sikeston. Born Nov. 13, 1962, in East Prairie, son of Norma Jean (Cantrell) Taylor of Sikeston and the late Everett Lee Taylor, he was a member of Crossroads of Hope Community Baptist Church and the Sikeston Elk's Lodge. He worked as a Senior Maintenance Worker for MoDot before retiring and had been a sergeant in the Army National Guard for 20 years... -

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension health and safety specialist Karen Funkenbusch urges Missouri residents to take precautions to ward off mosquitoes, ticks and fleas this summer. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported in May that diseases from the bites of these insects tripled from 2004 to 2016. A large number of bikers took part in Friday’s Legacy Run which started at American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston. After the Sept. 11 attacks, the American Legion created the Legacy Scholarship Fund for children whose military parent was killed in the war on terror.
