Voters OK change in 911 funding

NEW MADRID, Mo. — The voter turnout was one of the lowest for a countywide issue but support was high to create a new revenue source for the county’s 911 system. More than 70 percent of those casting ballots Tuesday approved the proposal which called for $1 a month surcharge on a subscriber of any communications services that is enabled to contact 911 for the purpose of funding 911 service in New Madrid County. ...

The union membership, which has gone in the United States from 80% down to 8%. Does anyone doubt that the goal of big money is to do away with the unions? The unions primarily look out for the welfare of working people. I don’t care how wealthy they have become, they’re not nearly as wealthy as the top 1%, not even close. And it’s a group effort. And the unions keep working, hopefully they try to keep working people from getting killed. Or being discarded and dumped on the streets without anything. But if that’s what the good Christian Americans want to happen to their fellow men, I guess we’ll just have to go with it.
