NEW MADRID, Mo. - A Mississippi County man will go to prison for a car crash that left a woman dead. Carter P. Adams, 40, of Charleston was sentenced to 10 years in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a charge of second degree murder - vehicular - intoxicated and seven years in the DOC on a charge of driving while intoxicated - chronic. The case was heard by 34th Judicial Circuit Judge William Edward Reeves following a change of venue from Mississippi County.
