WYATT, Mo. — Roy Thomas McMillen, age 75, of Wyatt and formerly of Sikeston, Missouri, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born June 12, 1947, at Charleston, Missouri, to the late Willie Gray McMillen and Mahala Christine Hill McMillen, he grew up in Mississippi County and went on to serve in the U.S. Army and was a military policeman.

Trout stocked at Complex pond

For the first time ever, the pond at the Sikeston Recreation Complex is stocked with trout. However, anglers will have to wait until February to keep the trout they catch. Personal property tax statements sent

Taxpayers may notice a higher-than-anticipated increase in their personal property tax statements as they arrive in their mailboxes this week. Scott County Collector Mark Hensley said the increases in personal property tax are due to disruptions in the production of new vehicles, computer chip shortages and loss of labor forces to produce parts. The used auto market has increased in demand and value due to the loss of available brand-new vehicles, he said.
