SIKESTON - Marine Pvt. First Class Harry Roger Arbaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Arbaugh of Sikeston, has graduated from the Infantry and Browning Automatic Rifle Section School at the training center at Camp Elliott in San Diego.

SIKESTON - The unbeaten Sikeston Bulldogs cruised easily to their eighth straight win of the season yesterday afternoon by blasting the Scott Central Braves 21-3 in the semifinals of the sub-district baseball tournament.

PADUCAH, Ky. - Sikeston resident Margaret Woods Allen is among six persons honored for her outstanding public service in the tri-state area. Mrs. Allen was named the winner of the Jefferson Award by WPSD-TV and Westvaco during a recent awards banquet. A regional finalist will be selected by the American Institute to represent the area at the national ceremony on June 15 in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Allen's name was among 80 persons nominated for the award. She was nominated by Altrusa International Inc. of Sikeston.

SIKESTON - Crowds today will rumble to Powerball machines everywhere - serenaded by the zit, zit, zit rhythm of the computer's printer. Could be a life of luxury for a luck winner who matches all five numbers plus the Powerball and takes home the $65 million jackpot.
