Speakout 11/10

Wednesday, November 10, 2004

I'm sure that, as you did before the election, you're going to be receiving a lot of calls or e-mails about the election. I just want to add to that a bit. What John Kerry tried to use against George Bush was what did him in. John Kerry continued to say that this war should have never happened. The fact is that it did happen and we could not just pack up and leave. Americans were afraid that Kerry had that in mind, and in fact, he probably did. John Kerry's loss is because of his own decisions on how to run his campaign. I'm sure he has changed his mind about how he should go after Bush. He's a great Monday morning quarterback but on Tuesday he is a complete idiot. Maybe he should have hired Sylvester Stallone's mother to direct his campaign. Prediction: 2008 - Hillary Clinton versus Colin Powell; the first black ever versus the first female ever. My vote is for Powell. America will vote for Powell, just because of the free time the First Man would have. ----

It's being reported here in Sikeston as well as other areas of the nation of a lot of sick "Yellow Dogs" coming into area veterinarian clinics. Some report the dogs are so sick they are dying of yellow fever before anything can be done to save them. While some are expected to recover, most veterinarians are expecting long term unknown affects on these yellow dogs. This outbreak is affecting only yellow dogs and, though the phenomena is something area veterinarians saw in early November four years ago, for some reason, 2004 seems to be the worst so far in history. The symptoms: foaming at the mouth at the sight of the color red, a hollow-eyed distant stare and an occasional mournful howl that sounds something like "Oh-Hi-Ohhhhhhhh" seems to be common among the afflicted. Do-it-yourself home remedies being recommended include a quarantine of these yellow dogs away from each other in solitude, and away from direct sunlight and network TV news reports, and left wing newsletters from Michael Moore, George Sorios, the DNC, and any union affiliate, etc. Also recommended is a walk in fresh air and sunlight each day (a word of caution here - limit exposure to sunlight and fresh air to very brief periods of time at first, so as not to throw the animal into shock from sensory perception overload as this animal is not used to seeing so many things clearly for themselves in the light of day). A change in diet from plastic chew toys to real bread and meat stock, ham bones, etc., something they can sink their teeth into that will nourish their mind, body and souls, is also recommended. If we see one of these yellow dogs, the impulse may be strong to give them a good vengeful snarl and say something like "Take that, Yellow Dog. But let us instead resist the impulse, summon restraint and compassion and simply pat these suffering puppies on the head and offer to take'em for a walk.

Shame on the state of Missouri for giving all their votes to Bush. They are a bunch of hypocrites just like Bush.

I am very surprised that John Kerry lost the election. I thought there were more gays, lesbians and minorities in the United States that would vote.

To all you people who voted for George Bush, I hope you like high gas prices, high unemployment and our young men and women being killed in Iraq. We will be there for years to come. Thanks for voting for George Bush.

I'm calling about election day. I don't know about other states, but after moving here some years ago and watching how the ballots were put out, I am getting more used to using the paper ballot and putting it in a file box. On election day they allowed people to sit at tables in groups and fill out their forms and ask questions whether they are right or wrong in their voting. I think this is very wrong. Surely someone out there can come up with a way to help the elderly or handicapped and have a closed off section where they can also vote in private. Having them in the open and discussions about who they were going to vote for is un-American. Your vote is a private issue.

To the people who call the Social Security office and complain about someone who you got into an argument or a fight with, just because a person is disabled, it does not mean they cannot defend themselves when someone attacks them verbally or assaults them. They have rights just like everybody else.
