Edward Smith

KENNETT -- Edward Earl Smith, 71, died Sept. 18, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 9, 1933, in Kennett, son of the late Weiner and Daisy Jones Smith, he was of the Baptist belief and member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kennett.

On Nov. 25, 1961, he married Jean Nugent who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Shirley Smith of Sikeston; and two nephews, Gary Smith and Michael Smith and his wife, Pam, all of Sikeston; one great-nephew, Brandon Smith of Sikeston; and one great-niece, Brooke Smith of Sikeston.

One brother, Bobby Gene Smith; and one sister, Eva Lorene Smith, preceded him in death.

Services were conducted Tuesday at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. The Rev. Dale Rickman officiated.

Burial followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were: John Mathenia, Gene Watts, Dean Tucker, Darell Wheeler, Ricky Burdin and Tommy Masterson.
