AP selects Barnes for team

COLUMBIA -- Sikeston native Brandon Barnes received another award on Thursday, being named an honorable mention linebacker on the Associated Press All-Big 12 team.

On Wednesday, the 1999 SHS graduate, who plays for the University of Missouri, was named All-Big 12 honorable mention by league coaches.

Thursday's award was given by a panel of 19 sportswriters who regularly cover the league.

Barnes is currently second on the team in tackles with 106 and is third on the team with 10 tackles for loss. He also has three fumble recoveries, two interceptions, one sack and one forced fumble.

Barnes and the Tigers will find out what bowl they'll be playing in and who they will be playing against in a bowl announcement on Sunday at 5 p.m.
