It's terrible what the Missouri governor has done to the veterans fund for the Veterans' Homes. Carnahan won't be around to answer to the music for what he did, but Holden has probably been dipping into it ever since, along with the other politicians. Those veterans will have no place to go and no money to go with. It's a downright dirty shame for anybody who fought in wars and then they don't even have a place to go just because the politicians want to draw the money.

Kudos to Roger Pendergrass for the May 6 letter to the editor. The Democrats hate Bush so much that they act like all the veterans are the ones who mistreated the Iraqi prisoners. They should remember that it was only a handful of idiots who did this. This has gotten to be too political and it's not fair at all.

When Bill Clinton was in office, I remember how bad it was with people crying, hollering and yelling about the high prices of gasoline. We even went into the surplus gas to help get prices down so the people could drive their automobiles. Now we have a president who doesn't say anything about the high prices on gas and is not even trying to get them down, couldn't care less about it. I don't understand it, unless it's just him and his buddy Cheney. They own oil wells and may want to make billions before they get out of office before a Democrat gets in there and works to get the prices down on gasoline again. I don't understand this. When Clinton was in the White House, people just talked about him something awful (and the vice president too). But at least he got something done.

I don't believe Bush lied about the weapons of mass destruction. But quit calling the Democrats "idiots." You seem to forget that it was a Republican administration that supplied Saddam Hussein with those weapons of mass destruction that he used on his own people. Not all Democrats are idiots. There are just as many Republicans who are idiots.

I think this prisoner deal in Iraq is just a Democrat ploy by Bush-haters. That's why they've come up with this crap. It's all about politics.
