CARUTHERSVILLE - The search continues for a man believed to have jumped from the Mississippi River bridge on Interstate 155.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff's office received a call at 12:40 a.m. Monday from a truck driver reporting a person had jumped from the bridge.

Officers from Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, the Pemiscot County coroner and the Dyer County law enforcement responded to the report.

At the scene on the south edge of the bridge just west of the Tennessee/Missouri line, they found a red with black and white stripe extra-large Aeropostale sweatshirt and a camouflage Brebark cloth bow case. Also authorities noticed shoe prints in the snow and ice along the bridge coming from the east as well as along the top of the bridge rail.

Two vehicles were found, one on the Missouri side of the bridge and one on the Tennessee side. Both owners were contacted.

Authorities have continued to work to determine who might have jumped from the bridge. Anyone with information of someone missing is asked to call the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department at 573-333-4101.
