Appreciation is needed

I am a spouse of a World War II veteran and I'm proud of the memorial wall they put up for them. Most of them will never see or know it. Missouri did less for the veterans than any other state. They do so much now and people fuss. They need to appreciate all the new communications we have. There was my husband and three brothers in the service. One was killed in France. We all lived on farms. We didn't have telephones, TV or other communication like they do today. It took two to four weeks to get a letter, then they were censored and we didn't know much. Now with all kinds of programs for families, still they fuss and can't stand this and that. There's one thing I have learned and they can also. If all would go to church and pray for our country and peace, it would be different. God doesn't leave you. You leave Him. God bless our country.

Information, please

What do you do to a neighbor who throws her trash and limbs over the fence on someone's property? Tell the neighbor you saw her do it or call someone else?

If you live in Sikeston, call DPS at 471-6200 and ask them the right way to file a complaint and ask what kind of proof you will need. If you do not live in Sikeston, call your local police department for information.

I am looking for a recipe that people used to make with mashed potatoes, they made candy with it. Does anybody have that recipe? If you do, please put your number in the paper and I will call you.
