Call 471-6636

I'm calling the concert that was held in Sikeston over the weekend. Bill Lewis is great! If any of you on the radios want to hear his music, you can reach him at: Bill Lewis, P.O. Box 525, Midlothian, Va. 23113; or call (804) 594-3913. His website is billlewissings.homestead.com

The problem the entire NMCC School District has is not just with Matthews pulling out, but how the school board handled the affair. Making the announcement immediately after the filing deadline for school board elections has raised eyebrows county wide. School board members may have given up the moral authority necessary to have the people's confidence in the R-1 district by the way this was done. It's not always "what" you do, but "how" you do it; and the "how" it was done is very upsetting district wide. This is a very sad time for all, in the New Madrid County School District.

I'm calling in response to "Change proposed change." The New Madrid County R-1 School District said school board members are willing to work with the patrons of the district. The district has a dedicated school board that works tirelessly to provide an educational climate conducive to standard achievements. The district has a well-educated staff, dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of the students. The teachers and staff are carrying the concerns of the district's students. The New Madrid County R-1 School District has an excellent educational environment for safety, learning and student achievements. The district has been accredited with distinction by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. All school districts have problem. In the New Madrid County R-1 District, the good outweighs the bad. Yes, I have children in the district and wouldn't have them attend school anywhere else.

I'm calling in response to the person who said it's still the President's fault. I don't think the President was responsible for crashing planes into the World Trade Center and killing 5,000 to 6,000 Americans. What does he expect the President to do? As far as jobs in this area or the United States, there is way too much intervention - higher wages, EPA, OSHA, taxes - and the American people think they should only work 35 to 40 hours a week with weekends off, eight-hour days. Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't think this, especially in the Asian countries, they work 70 and 80 hours a week, and also in Mexico. Unfortunately, water does not run up hill and I think we're finally paying the dues for our very, very relaxed lifestyle in the United States.

This is to the person who stole my angel stepping stone out of my yard. I hope you dropped it and I hope it broke your foot.
