SIKESTON - Sikeston's 1943 softball schedule got under way Tuesday night with the M.I.A. cadets defeating the International Shoe Company 4 to 0 and the Salcedo team defeated the M.I.A. mechanics 13 to 4.

SIKESTON - Members of the AmeriFirst team of the Sikeston Little League for this summer are Brian Keefer, Adam Garrett, Kye Lawrence, Jamie Puckett, Drew Lawrence, Garrett Lambert, Boone Thompson, Nick Beck, John Engberg, Jemorrid Parker, Andrew Lambert, Josh Propst, Bruce Lawrence, Larry Garrett, Steve Lambert and Phil Puckett.

SIKESTON - June's Standard Democrat Calendar Girl is Cherryl Zanatos, a 1993 graduate of Sikeston Senior High. A fifth runner-up in the 1992 Miss Sikeston Contest, Cherryl is the daughter of Zeke and Vy Zanatos of Sikeston. She received a four-year scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University's Air Force ROTC. Planning to major in computer science, Cherryl wants to learn how to fly when she joins the Air Force after college.
