Martha Rodgers

SIKESTON - Martha Ann Rodgers, 79, died at 10:20 a.m. July 17, 2003, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born Feb. 23, 1924, in Wardell, daughter of the late Louie Jesse and Florence Elizabeth Lewis Bollinger, she retired as secretary for Scott County Central Elementary School in Morley. She was a member of the Morley Baptist Church.

On April 12, 1942, she married Murile Rodgers who preceded her in death on June 8, 1954.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Becky Rodgers of Morley; one daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Lloyd Hoffmeister of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Julie Rodgers of Savannah, Ga., and Kelley and Dustin Snider of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Jim Bollinger of Sikeston, Ben Bollinger of Cape Girardeau and Buster Bollinger of Oran; and four sisters, Berniece Trost of Cape Girardeau, Rita Friga of Chaffee, Shirley Wilson of Greenville and Frances Eftink of Springfield.

One son, one brother and one sister also preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Visitation will continue from noon Saturday until service time at 3 p.m. at the Morley Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Matthews will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Joe Williams, Charles Freed, Ray Gene Emerson, Ben Bollinger, Buster Bollinger and Junior E. Wilson.
