Wilbur Lee Witt
GULFPORT, Miss. - Wilbur Lee Witt, 64, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died May 6, 2005, at Gulfport.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, in Charleston, to the late Curtis and Mattie Witt, he served 30 years active duty in the United States Navy and 16 years with the Civil Service at the Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport. He was a member of Nugent United Methodist Church in Gulfport.
Survivors include: his wife, Gwendolyn Sue Witt; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Beth Witt of Gulfport; two brothers, Lonnie Witt of Peoria, Ill., and Orvel Witt of Sikeston, Mo.; one sister, Virginia King of Lepier, Mich.; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Witt and Glen Witt; and a sister, Leta Jolliff.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Hwy 49 North in Gulfport.
The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday and will go to National Cemetery in Biloxi, for the graveside service with honors at 10 a.m.
