BENTON, Ark. -- Orville Marion Miller Sr., 85, died May 28, 2003, at the Arkansas Health Center in Benton.
Born Oct. 24, 1917, in Vienna, Ill., son of the late Louis Jackson and Parthenia Delana Miller, he had lived in the Essex, Mo., and Gray Ridge, Mo., area before moving near Hartville, Mo. In 1981, he moved to Arkansas. A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II and the Korean War.
On June 3, 1949, he married Alice Rozelle Stewart who preceded him in death Feb. 27, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Orville M. Miller Jr., on Oct. 26, 1993.
Survivors include: one son, Charles J. Miller of Ventura, Calif.; two daughters, Lana A. Francis of Herculaneum, Mo., and Kathleen Wamble of Essex; one brother, Louis Miller of Idaho; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. Thursday until time for service at 11 a.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
