GARY, Ind. -- Samuel S. "Bob Robinson, 73, died July 20, 2005.

Born April 7, 1932, in Charleston, Mo., son of the late Charles and Delia Robinson, he attended school in Charleston, S.C., and retired after 32 years of work at LTV/Youngstwon Sheet and Tube of East Chicago, Ind. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

Survivors include: three sons, Sherman A. Robinson of Gary, Montell Robinson of Detroit, Mich., and Samuel P. Robinson of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Irma T. Petty of Louisville, Ky., and Johnnie M. Ragland and Patricia C. Lyte of Gary; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, four brothers and 11 sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family hour at 6 p.m. at Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church in Gary, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Cato Brooks Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery.
