Call 471-6636

I'm a 15-year taxpayer in the west end of Matthews. I would like to SpeakOut about a gathering place in town that is nothing but a little hypocrite place for people to get around and talk about everybody. They make up lies on everybody from the kids that run around to the grown-ups that run around just because they won't go in there and spend their money. These people make up lies and look at you funny. Then these same people go to church on Sunday like there's nothing ever going on. These people know who they are. I just wonder if they could keep their mouths shut or just talk about their own.

What happened to Lisa Crane on KFVS-12 TV? She went to a station in Atlanta, Ga.

Wouldn't the Wing Lake area be a beautiful spot for a Sikeston Botanical Gardens? Just a thought.

The person from New Madrid who really isn't from New Madrid who is talking about the children and school and stuff, if you're not from New Madrid, you don't know what you're talking about. They're our kids, not yours. So shut up!

This call is in regard to R-1 Schools "Hot topic." First of all, if you don't live here, mind your own business. If you do live here, as your statement further suggests "our board," you are either a board member, administration or staff person. Comments such as the one you made only come from someone who has something to gain. So while you're writing lengthy articles about something that is none of your business, why don't you leave your name? This is about our children, not about you.

I wish the people would get off this stuff about raising taxes on cigarettes. I have smoked for 50 years and I enjoy every minute of it. They told us if Missouri got the Lottery it would help the schools and stuff. It hasn't helped the school one bit and it's not going to help us senior citizens either. I wish they would get off it. I'm going to keep on smoking even if I have to roll them by hand.

Who would want to vote for Proposition A for the tax on cigarettes? To be equal, they should vote for the same tax on liquor. Also, we voted for the gambling bill and what were we supposed to get? It was all supposed to go for the schools, but no. They just keep raising the school taxes. I don't think I'm going to vote anything in.

I live in East Prairie and didn't get my paper on Sunday and again today (Oct. 9). I don't know if my neighbor is getting my papers or if they weren't delivered. Please put the paper farther up in my yard by my car.

Please call our Circulation Department at (573) 471-4141 and leave your name and address so we can contact your carrier.
