Speakout 1/31

Monday, January 31, 2005

I'm calling Speakout about the Miner Board of Aldermen recognizing officer Billy Williams about the stranded traveler that he boarded at this home. There are other people that need to be recognize for taking the stranded motorists out to officer Billy Williams' house. My husband Jason Foley, he needs to be recognized by the Miner Board of Aldermen for being out in the snowstorm carrying those stranded motorists out to officer Billy Williams' house. He needs some recognition and appreciation for his hard work, too.

I want to Speakout on appreciation for the school board and for taking time to recognize those individuals who serve on the school board. I want to say I believe that we should recognize these unpaid volunteers who serve the public on education in the community but I do have a problem with individuals who have been on the board more than four years or six years who have not become certified. I believe that if teachers can become certified, they should become certified board members and they can better meet the challenges day by day on the issues and programs that are necessary. I commend all those certified board members who went to school, went to classes in order to be able to serve our schools and community. Congratulations.

I was calling Speakout because I was fired from my job last April and it was an unnecessary termination. I was working for the state and they said I didn't pay my state taxes but I didn't owe any state taxes. When I showed them he payment they told me it was too late. I was wondering what kind of rights do I have, how long do I have to wait to file an unlawful discrimination suit and how do I go about doing that if you can't afford a lawyer.

I think the employees of the Ferguson Medical Group and employees of Missouri Physician Associates should be commended for always being there for the general public. They keep everyone safe. They work. They are very dedicated, they came in during the snow and ice storm to see sick people. They have after-hour clinics to take care of us who can't take off from work. I think during this flu season everyone should appreciate them because they were open when it was bad weather. They are open late at night. They are friendly, courteous and they do everything they can to help us. Ferguson Medical Group and the Missouri Delta Medical group should be highly commended and very well appreciated in this area.
