Someone wanted to have White History Month in July along with celebrating Independence Day. The reason we have a Black History Month is that black history was not taught in the past. This allows people to get up to date about black history. We were always taught about white history, so we don't really need a month set aside for that because that's all we've been taught.

I'm not racist or anything, but Black History Month is in remembrance of black people who stood up for their rights. Black people were not at liberty to do what the white people were able to do. We might have some great white leaders, but they have always had their rights.

Well, Mike, I see you continue to write editorials with non-factual information. Your March 2 editorial again shows your hatred for our state. You slam our governor, Bob Holden, who you do every chance you did, and said he was behind an office memo telling people not to cooperate with state senators who talked about how to reduce the state budget. How can you write this garbage? You don't even know what you're talking about. Why don't you find out the facts, like the facts show? This information was hand-written notes by someone who had never attended a staff meeting until that day. This person wrote stuff down to give to his boss. It was never e-mailed and a memo was never sent to anybody in the world as you stated. Come on, Mike. Get your facts straight and get out of the gutter.

I have been out of town and had not had an opportunity to read SpeakOut until today. I read where someone said they wish we would have a lot of casualties. Perhaps you're not a mother, or a sister or a brother so you can't understand what you're saying. We do not deserve to have casualties. None of us wants this war, but war is what won us this country, war is what won us this freedom. Every time you're able to lay your Bible on the dash of your car, every time you're able to go to a gas station and get gas for your car, or to go into a grocery store, you're able to vote and have freedom of speech - some veteran somewhere fought for that. Some died for that. How dare you to talk like that! This is God's country. This is the United States of America. Love it or leave it. There are countries where people cannot enjoy this kind of freedom, and we invite you to go there.

I am waiting patiently for the TV news people to announce to the nation and the world the exact hour when the United States will attack Iraq. How utterly ridiculous for details such as I hear again and again, such as from which directions the attack will begin, how many troops are now in position and, "we'll be ready by the middle of the month." We might as well be telling them we'll be there to start firing on Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Tom Daschle and his cronies are more danger for what this country stands for than Saddam Hussein. It's a shame and a disgrace that he ever got the powerful position he's got. He's starving the Indians to death on the Pine Ridge Reservation. He gets up there in them $500 suits and acts like a king.

Shame on you to the man who came to businesses selling cookie dough for his child's school and never delivered the dough. He really took advantage of an opportunity to make money, ruining it for the rest of the children.

To the yellow dog who is worried about Slick Willie's chemistry, if he had done anything while he was in office, we wouldn't be in the shape we're in today. The whole country used him for the world, like North Korea did. All I can remember about him is his immoral life.
