Rita Hofmann

FLORENCE, Ala. - Rita M. Hofmann, 76, formerly of Parma, Mo., died Jan. 7, 2005, in Florence.

Born May 25, 1928, in Parma, daughter of the late Lee Roy and Ritta Salyer Terry, she attended Mississippi State College for Women, earned a bachelors degree in education from Delta State Teachers College and received her masters degree from the University of North Alabama. She was a retired teacher and a founding member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, John W. Hofmann, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael T. Hofmann of Killen and Timothy L. Hofmann of Decatur; one daughter, Shaun H. Grove of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, James Crabtree of Belton; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Monday at the Elkins Funeral Home in Florence.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parma Cemetery.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Parma is in charge of local arrangements.
