Speakout 5/21

I read Dr. Masters' invention of the mosquito and tick trap. Not only is he the best doctor who has ever been in Sikeston (they've never had one here as good as him), but evidently he's the smartest, too. He is the only one who ever invented anything that I know of.

What happened to Steve Sotak at KFVS? He was a good reporter and is no longer there.

Sotak, who still lives in Cape Girardeau, has secured a position outside the television industry.

I watch on television where these guys are always ridiculing each other about what they will or won't do. Answer this question, if you can get one from Kerry or Bush. Why is it so difficult for a person who has worked their tails off all these many years for most of their life, and the younger people go in and get disability or Social Security who have never worked a day in their life?

You don't have to ask the President or his opponent this question. Different rules apply for disabled workers and disabled people who have not worked and paid into the Social Security system. Disabled workers who qualify receive benefits from Social Security. Disabled people who have not worked and do not qualify for Social Security benefits receive disability benefits from Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Call the Social Security office in your area for more information.

Prosecutors have been trying to rewrite the law in the courtroom for years to help their clients. It just doesn't work that way. As much as we want drunk drivers off our roads, we have to follow the "written law." If the law says "none shall be given," then that's what the lawyers must agree to. If they want the law changed then they know the procedure to do so. If you drink or not you have to agree that the law is the law. Its written down so even an idiot can understand it. We as the citizens of this area have to pay these wonderful crooked lawyers to debate this matter in a court room that we also paid to build.

The helicopter in the photo that is identified as a HUL-1 is actually an OH-13.

The information in the article was provided by the personnel who delivered the aircraft. Often a particular piece of equipment is numbered differently for each branch of the U.S. armed services.
