Harold Gromer

BERNIE - Harold E. Gromer, 77, died Jan. 4, 2005, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Born April 6, 1927, in Morley, son of the late Ernest S. and Addie O. Mason Gromer, he was a lifelong resident of Southeast Missouri and member of the Word of Faith Christian Center in Bernie.

On Dec. 21, 1946, in Bloomfield, he married Imogene Williams who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Roger Gromer of Dexter; three daughters and one son-in-law, Janie L. Gromer, Connie D. Gromer and Charlotte and Jerry Yates of Bernie; three brothers, Cecil Gromer of Columbia, Charles Gromer of Dexter and Allen Gromer of St. Clair; four sisters, Mary Gromer and Virgie Allen of Dexter, Dorothy Edwards of Essex and Ann Pruett of Bloomfield; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Howard Gromer and Alva Gromer, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday. Dale Hartle of Bernie will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.
