Levada Hitchcock

PORTAGEVILLE - Levada Hitchcock, 91, died March 15, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare in New Madrid.

Born July 30, 1913, in Florence, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Ninnie Cagle and Luther A. Sims.

On Oct. 22, 1932, in Cornith, Miss., she married to Elbert Filmore Hitchcock, who preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1979. Also preceding her were: three brothers, W.D. Sims, L.C. Sims, and Grady Sims; and one sister, Lola Marlin.

Survivors include: three sons and daughter-in-laws, Elbert and Virginia Hitchcock of Portageville, Bille Joe and Pat Hitchcock of Springfield and Johnny and Sara Hitchcock of Beeville, Texas; one brother, William Sims of Blytheville, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, Opalene and James Turnbow of Kalamazoo, Mich.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of God with Rev. Bob Kespelher officiating. Burial will follow at the Portageville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Randy Hitchcock, John Clyde Hitchcock, Jim Bob Hitchcock and Hershel Hitchcock.
