Call 471-6636

This is to thank the Sikeston Street Department for the great job they have done with the leaf and snow removal. The new leaf machines are wonderful and I'm proud of the city for purchasing them. The streets are cleaner than I can remember.

This is to the person who called in asking for someone who would accept clothes and toys to be given away. There is a church on BB. Its name is Unity and it has a clothes closet which is open one Saturday a month when they give away clothing and stuff. You may want to contact them.

I'm needing some work done on a grandfather clock I have. I saw a phone number in the paper of someone who will work on a grandfather clock but I've misplaced my paper. Would you put the number in the paper again, please?

Edgar Kinser has a shop in Bloomfield and repairs grandfather clocks. His number is (573) 568-4628.

They build these new fancy motel-like jails all over the country. We need a sheriff to build and treat the prisoners like they do down in Texas. Put a fence around them and throw a tarp over it. Maybe this would cut crime. The way it is now, they're encouraging it. Most of them have a better place to go staying in jail than they have at home.

This is to the person who lives in Ridgeview who lets her dog out to do its "doodie." I'm tired of your dog doing his doodie in my yard. I have not harmed your dog. I would never harm a dog or any animal in any way, but I'm tired of my little girl coming in the house with doodie on her feet and tracking it in my house. You can tell a child to clean their feet, but they don't always do a very good job. There are a lot of dogs out here that are doing their doodie in everybody's yards, and we're tired of it. Put a leash on your dog, take it outside and let it do its doodie in your hard.

What can you do with old phonograph records that are 50 years old? I just don't know what to do with them.

I'm a local roofer guy here in Sikeston and am calling about a business in town. I used to go in there all the time. I went in there and the people acted like they were so stupid they didn't want to wait on you. If they decide to build, they're going to have to change their ways. They just don't want to wait on you. It's not like it used to be. If they want business, they need to straighten up their act.
