Speakout 7/16

Friday, July 16, 2004

I just want all the used car dealers to know that when I see a commercial where they yell and scream, I change the channel. I don't know who they are because I never see them after the first few seconds of the commercial. This is on TV and radio and there is one particularly obnoxious one that I've been hearing recently. It's ridiculous. Stop yelling in your commercials. It's disrespectful.

Kerry said he believes life begins at conception, but also says he believes in partial-birth abortion. Do you know how heinous and gross that is, how bad partial-birth abortions are? Look it up on the Internet. I can't describe it in the paper because it probably wouldn't be printed. It makes the people in Iraq who are getting beheaded look like they're going to a park to eat cake. He's a sick man.

I was at the "Puttin' On the Hits" July 2 in East Prairie and had two blessings. I am a Christian and, as a Christian, I have to say that the Assembly of God Church children who performed the hit, "Imagine" was wonderful. My second blessing is that when I turned up and looked into the crowd, there was a lady standing up there with a small child, holding her hand up and praising the Lord. I don't know her name but I did learn that she attends Elm Street Baptist Church. God bless you, honey. God bless you.

Will the documentary "Farhenheit 911" be coming to Sikeston and, if so, when?

We contacted Malco Trio with your question. "Due to a limited number of screens and contract obligations to play other movies, we are unable to get "Fahrenheit 911" now, but are presently working on getting the movie and finding a time spot to work it into our schedule."

I am calling about job service's new website and the fact that everyone who has ever registered with Job Service has to re-enter all their records. You can't get a listing of jobs locally other than the ones you specifically ask for. Even the people who work for Job Service don't like the new website. Please call (573) 751-3809 and talk to the person who actually designed the website. I'm sure once you talk to him you will realize that the State of Missouri has been ripped off. The taxpayers are paying to help people get jobs so they don't have to support them on welfare.

Fashion does speak, and speaks loud even in our churches as well as the workplace. In some churches, people wear short-shorts and mini-skirts so short they can't even bend. And we wonder why churches aren't filled. People can't tell the difference in some Christians and the people on the beaches because they wear or what they allow their children to wear is tacky, tacky, tacky. It's disgraceful. People, wake up before it's too late.

Plan is no bargain

I would like to SpeakOut about the prescription drug bill that Mr. Bush has gotten for the elderly and poor. It is not worth a penny. It costs more to have it than to not have it. I get mine from Canada and I would advise everyone else to do the same. This is a rip-off. Mr. Bush is not going to help anybody.
