Burglary arrests are made

SIKESTON -- Two men and a juvenile were arrested for a recent rash of burglaries at local businesses.

The men were arrested by detectives with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety after a tape taken at one of the burglary scenes was reviewed and the suspects were identified.

After interviewing the suspects, the men confessed to committing the burglaries reported on May 24 at the 2 U Beauty Fashions at 1055 E. Malone, U-Pump-It at 109 East St. on May 30 and the Hip Hop Shop at 126 Front St. on June 4.

Names are being withheld pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecutor's Office. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests may be forthcoming, officers said.
