SIKESTON - Bill and Shela Mays have announced the engagement of their daughter, Christy Lynne, to Gregory Scott Patterson, son of Bill and Shelia Patterson of Dogwood.

The future bride graduated in 1998 from Sikeston High School and is manager of the Wal-Mart Vision Center in Sikeston.

A 1997 graduate of East Prairie High School, the prospective bridegroom is employed by Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse in Sikeston.

The couple will be married in a private ceremony on Oct. 12.
