Your View 5/7: Here are the facts

Wednesday, May 7, 2003

I read the article about the Charter Cable Company. I like the one part about 30 of their 40 employees being reassigned.

Someone lied to you. I am an employee of Charter. There are 50 customer service representatives and 50 customer service representatives will be losing their jobs. The only ones to keep their jobs are someone in dispatch, a cashier and all the technicians. So they are not "downsizing," like you were told. I figure maybe you were lied to because corporate offices more or less told our managers to keep their mouths shut until the 10-year contract was signed by Charter and the city - kind of convenient. Huh?

They are not doing this to give better customer services. They're doing this because Charter is $135 billion in debt. You claim to print the facts. These are the facts.

Anyway, I just thought I would let you know about this. I hope, as well as my co-workers, that maybe you can correct this.

P.S.: We did ask Mr. Huntsman about the remark. He said it was a misprint.
