Letter to the Editor

Your view: Secretary's Week

Monday, April 21, 2003

It is fitting for our great nation to honor these important creatures called secretaries. Without them, business, commerce and industry would surely come to a halt.

They are the center of any office. It seems that everything else rotates around them. The boss expects them to know everything they do.

They have an uncanny way of deciphering scribbling called the English language. They correct spelling, type it out and make the boss look good. They just smile and let them take the credit.

Many times each day, important people ask her questions and seek her advice. Her ability to know complicated rules and regulations are one of her many trademarks.

There may be a bouquet on her desk, but she is the real flower in any office, and so that she could better compete in a male-dominated world, the Lord in his wisdom made her very, very pretty.

Happy Secretary's Week. You've earned it.
