SIKESTON - Twin sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. George C. Alsup of Route 3 at Sikeston General Hospital Wednesday, the second multiple birth to occur at the facility this week.


SIKESTON - Miss Mary Em Donnell of Sikeston is a student at William Woods College in Fulton, where she has been named vice president of the senior class.

SIKESTON - The 10th annual Jaycee Rodeo has come and gone. the rains came and caused a deficit we understand of something like $4,000. The loss gives Sikeston an opportunity to support very enthusiastically any and all activities of the Jaycees during the coming year.

SIKESTON - The Red Cross blood drive, conducted Thursday afternoon, exceeded its goal by 35 pints - an accomplishment which provided much excitement to those involved.


MATTHEWS - Selected as Little Mr. and Miss Matthews Friday evening were Ryan Burns, 3, son of Dennis and Terry Burns and Lesley Nicole Parker, 3, daughter of Steve and Carrie Parker. First runners-up were Bill Roberts V, 4, son of Debbie and Bill Roberts and Leslie Warwick, 3, daughter of George and Deb#bie Warwick.

CHARLESTON - With the adoption of a resolution Thursday, the Mississippi County Commission agreed to join surrounding counties in steps to form a Southeast Missouri Regional Water District.


SIKESTON - Southwest PTO had a rummage and raffle sale recently which raised more than $800 for purchasing new playground equipment.
