SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. B.F. DeLoach of Jonesboro, Ark., are now the operators of the Mobilgas Cafe located on Highway 61 South at Gladys Street. They are living with Mrs. W.T. Tucker, 519 E. Gladys St.

SIKESTON - Sikeston has been allotted $20,000 to acquire land, extend the runway and taxiway and build an apron at the Sikeston Memorial Airport.


SIKESTON - Miss Katie Leigh of Sikeston and graduate of Olivet Nazarene College has returned from a nine-week summer holiday study tour of the European continent.

NEW MADRID - At Monday's meeting of the city council, Mrs. Raymond Howard and Marie Masters approached the council about the possibility of condemning a house located adjacent to their property.


SIKESTON - The Bootheel Mental Health Center will begin a monthly seminar series next month on topics of community mental health.

SIKESTON - Cole Ivie won a stuffed toy Hushpuppies dog in a recent drawing during grand opening ceremonies at the Sikeston Outlet Mall. Sue Speakman and Ed Holmes each won a $100 shopping spree in the drawing.


SIKESTON - Since becoming aware of the United Way of Sikeston, Charles Atchison has always liked the fact that it promotes a community spirit of neighbors helping neighbors. Atchison, who is serving as chairman of the United Way effort this year, has been involved in the United Way as a contributor for many years. "It wasn't until I learned the scope of the programs that I was able to understand the vital role United Way plays in community enhancement," he said.
