SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Page entertained a group of friends at their home Monday night in celebration of Mr. Page's birthday.

Sept. 15, 1965

SIKESTON - Ron Voss and Mike Shain of the Sikeston radio station, conducted a tour of the station for the Canalou 4-H Club Saturday.

SIKESTON - George Myracle has been named chairman of the Quality of Life Committee. Myracle replaced Gary Whitworth, who was recently transferred by the Savings of America to Springfield.

SIKESTON - Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319 is seeking items for their annual auction, part of the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center Charity Walk Fund. The Eagles have been part of the auction for the past eight years. This year a four-wheel drive ATV will be auctioned off, with proceeds to go to the center.

EAST PRAIRIE - The East Prairie Eagles Club will offer a free CPR class at 6 p.m. Sept. 19. Open to the public and co-sponsored by the RSVP, the class will be taught by Maria Lankheit, EMT, at the club, located on County Road 430.

SIKESTON - Beginning Sept. 18, the YMCA of Southeast Missouri will open the old Middle School gym on Tanner Street to the public. The gym will be open to youths ages 8-17, Monday through Friday from 3:30-5 p.m. Adult pick up basketball will be available to ages 18 and up on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1-5 p.m.

MATTHEWS - There will be a benefit ham and bean supper Sept. 21 at the Jaycee Building. Donations will help defray medical bills for Harvey Cooksey, who was injured in an automobile accident.
