Mary Alice Springs
SIKESTON - Mary Alice Springs, 82, died at 7:04 p.m. June 7, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Nov. 25, 1922, in Stoddard County to the late Henry F. and Christine York Stanley, she was a homemaker and a member of Tanner Street Church of God, where she was a Children''s Sunday school teacher for many years.
On Nov. 1, 1941, in Charleston she married Harold "Hot Shot" Springs, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters and sons-in-
law, Kathy and Ken Shields and Christy and Eddie McDowell of Sikeston, Donna Sue and Bill Wilkison of Dallas and Ruth Ann Northcutt and Les Fields of Bloomfield; a special niece, Martha Hilpert of St. Louis; her special friend, Mildred Allen of Sikeston; and 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by Homer and Bertha York who raised her after her parents died; one twin brother; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Carl Addison, pastor of the Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Northcutt, Chris Hodgkiss, Justin Pobst, Gary Dzurny, Barry Wallace, Romer Austria, Doug Knight and Rod Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Megan McGill-Knight, Amy McGill Dzurny, Mauri McGill Austria, Laura Wilkison Parsons, Susan Wilkison, Jennifer McDowell Hodgkiss, Merideth McDowell Pobst, Shari Shields Wallace, Tami Shields and Ladawn Crowe Northcutt.
