Sluggers back from USSSA World Series

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Sikeston Sluggers 7-year-old traveling baseball team went to Oklahoma City, Okla., for the 7-8 Pitching Machine USSA World Series.

The squad took second place in the consolation bracket.

Members of the team are Austin Erwin, Caleb Hampton, Adam Kennard, Chase Baran, Chase Davis, Seth Ressel, Dylan Mason, Colton Black, Aaron Neal, Derrick Garner, Zachary Harrison and Doug Still Jr.

The team was coached by Steve Ressel, Phil Black, Jason Erwin, Pete Kennard and Jeff Harrison.

"We would like to thank sponsors who helped us go to Oklahoma," said Erwin. "Richard Cannon of C&H Trailers, Nelson Tractor, Aufdenburg Equipment, Women's Auxiliary, Sears, Ponder Funeral Home, Breyers, First State Bank, New Madrid Country Club, First Security State Bank, Lambert's, King Farms, Lee Hunter and Wal-Mart all helped us out a lot.

We would also like to thank everybody that came out our car wash, along with all of our great parents, coaches and players."
