CHARLESTON - Everett L. Holley Sr., 72, died at 5:50 a.m. Oct. 12, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 26, 1930, in Patton, son of the late George and Mildred Meisser Holley, he lived in Charleston most of his life where he owned and operated Holley Electric and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a lieutenant colonel with the Missouri National Guard.

On Sept. 26, 1948, he married Patsy McDaniel who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Everett Holley Jr. of Sikeston and Charles and Jayna Holley of Charleston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Mark Hart of Charleston and Amy and Matt Worley of Olney, Ill.; one sister, Betty DePriest of Cape Girardeau; and eight grandchildren, Chris Hart, Katherine Hart, Everett "Tre" Holley III, Brent Holley, Melissa Holley, Jonathan Holley, David Holley and Jack Worley; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Claire Hart and Everett Christopher Hart.

He was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Janice Marie Holley; and one brother, Thomas Holley.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Tuesday until service time at 2 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.

The Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program will conduct graveside military rites at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
