Call 471-6636

I have a neighbor who has a Dalmatian that has bitten several people and the police where I live won't do anything about it. Who can I call to get something done?

I have a neighbor who drives a big truck and parks it in his driveway. The truck has a big alarm system on it. He gets in and out of the truck all hours of the night. I have seen where he has a burner in it, like he's trying to cook something in the back of the trailer. I think this is activity is suspicious. Who can I call?

Call the Scott County Sheriff at 471-3530.

I am willing to tutor the person who is asking for beginning lessons in the German language. Call me at 471-3926. I am not certified but I lived in Germany for seven years. I also have learner tapes and have taught several people who have visited Germany.

Those veto overrides show just how far off-base Holden is with the people of this state. It's time for him to go.

I would like to compliment Sikeston Public Schools for finally getting breakfast this year. It is really a help to we adults who have to go to work and don't have a lot of time. To the fifth grade center principal, I think you have gone above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to being a principal. Some matters came up and you took care of them very well and I would just like to thank you.

Parents, isn't it about time we make sure that our kids, somehow or some way, are not indulging in drunken festivities that have seemingly become a tradition around here?

Man, the Democrats are in a very sad state as to stoop so low as to run down someone as fine a lady as Barbara Bush and honor the likes of the Clintons. Eee-gads! What's next?

I saw on TV where they're going to allow the Ku Klux Klan to have a rally on Sept. 27 in Eddyville, Ky. I have never heard anything good that the Ku Klux Klan has done. They're a racist bunch of people. You'll probably never see them do this, but they should round up all the black people there and the Klan, and all of them hug each other. Each one should say, "Brother, I love you." Wouldn't that be something? Friends, you'll probably never see it (and I'll probably never see it in my day and I'm 70 years old). If the Ku Klux Klan didn't have the Civil Liberties Union standing on the sidelines ready to back them up if trouble arises, they wouldn't be so brave. They wouldn't walk so tall. We need to figure out a way to interfere. I wouldn't care if they did away with the Civil Liberties Union. I can't tell where they do much. They've got about as much sense as the Ku Klux Klan does, and boy do they stink!

I read where someone wants to donate magazines to a nursing home or somewhere. We live in the Prairie Gold Apartments in East Prairie and we would love to have some of those magazines because a lot of us like to read out here.

The Sikeston Senior Citizens center could use the magazines. A lot of elderly people come early and would enjoy reading them when they come for lunch.

The center is at 305 Cresap St. in Sikeston (471-6047).
