SIKESTON - Larry "Big D" Diamond, 62, died July 26, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 3, 1940, in Benton, son of the late Wayne and Oma Hopkins Diamond, he was a member of the Bement Baptist Church and Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau. He was an over-the-road truck driver and had been employed by ABF and Elfrink and retired from USF Holland. He had also been employed by the Aufdenberg Equipment Co.

On April 16, 1960, in Benton, he married Karen Kappler who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Alison Diamond of Cape Girardeau and Jessie Diamond of Excelsior Springs; one daughter, Judy Diamond of St. Louis; two sisters, Norma Kidd of Edwardsville, Ill., and Fern Schreckenberg of Leopold; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Diamond of St. Louis.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Bob Medlock will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton.
