Hazel Travis

ROLLA - Hazel Mae Travis, 79, died July 22, 2003, in St. Louis.

Born Dec. 19, 1923, in Newburg, daughter of the late Leonard and Offie Poynter Slawson, she lived in Sikeston for 30 years before moving to Rolla in October 2002.

She and Eugene Travis Jr. were married in June 1977 and he survives of the home.

Other survivors include: five daughters, Mary Schafer of Salem, Linda Davis of St. Louis, Pat Peters and Glenda Lewis of Linn and Vicky Wilson of Edgar Springs; two sons, Wesley Blue of Florida and Lawrene Blue of Doolittle; one sister, Mary Rose of the state of Washington; and four brothers, George Slawson, Jim Slawson and Lester Slawson of Rolla and Ernie Slawson of Silex; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Seven brothers preceded her in death.

Burial will be private at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
