SIKESTON - Jacob E. Estes, 53, formerly of Charleston, died March 23, 2004, at his home.

Born June 15, 1950, in Mississippi County, son of the late Lyman Aaron Estes and Delphia Raines Estes Ford, he lived in Sikeston for many years where he was a member of Smith Avenue Church of God.

On June 4, 1981, he married Sharon Diane House who preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 1994.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Estes and Donna Kay Estes of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Clara Kathleen "Kathy" Shaw of Sikeston; two brothers, Roy Glenn Estes of Sikeston and Jerry Estes of Mounds, Ill.; four sisters, Mabel Gardner of Cunningham, Tenn., Faye Villars of Royal, Ark., Karen Estes Skinner of Boaz, Ky., and Debbie Estes of Goreville, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Estes and Jimmy Estes.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Ira Lee Sandefer, pastor of Smith Avenue Church of God, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Edwin Maxwell, Jim Chappell, Junior Starnes, Heather Ritch, Chris Harris and Ernie Melton.
