LOMPOC, Calif. - The Rev. Thomas Woods, 67, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Oct. 18, 2005, at his residence.

Born Sept. 23, 1938, in Sikeston to the late H.W. and Bobbye Swanagon Woods, he earned his undergraduate degree from Midwestern Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo., and his master's degree from Southern Baptist Seminary for Biblical Studies in Jacksonville, Fla. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. In 1984, he moved to Lompoc and assumed the role of senior pastor of Mission Hills Baptist Church. He also owned Woods Insurance Agency.

Survivors include: his wife, Carol; one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Michelle Woods of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Carol Ann Pawlisa of Centralia, Ill., and Janet Just of Sandoval, Ill.; one brother, H.W. Woods Jr. of Paradise, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mission Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Bevel of Ralls, Texas, officiating.
