David W. Jackson

EAST PRAIRIE -- David W. Jackson, 69, died at 2:27 p.m. June 27, 2003, at Tandem Healthcare in Lakeland, Fla.

Born Sept. 24, 1933, in Campbell, son of the late Walter and Ora Walters Jackson, he was a retired construction worker and a member of the Grove Park Christian Church in Lakeland where he lived most of his adult life.

Survivors include: two sisters, Willa Mae Smith of Winter Haven, Fla., and Eileen Thornbrough of East Prairie; and his nephew, who was also his caregiver, Charles C. Ford of Lakeland.

One brother, W.C. Jackson, and one sister, Ruth E. Ford, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from noon Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie until graveside services begin at 2 p.m. in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Girdwood will officiate.
